An arrest was made Monday morning of two suspects in the recent spate of vandalism around town.
According to Watonga Police Chief Beth Massey, the two were picked up during the early morning hours by officer Monte Goodwin and were booked into the Blaine County Jail.
Tracy Alan Hornsby, 18, was charged with malicious injury or destruction of property less than $1,000, possession of medical marijuana without a license, public intoxication, possession of paraphernalia, and carrying a weapon, drugs or alcohol into a jail. Destruction of less than $1,000 is a misdemeanor punishable by up to one year in jail and a $500 fine.
Jadrien Caidyn Little Yellowman was charged with malicious injury or destruction of property of more than $1,000, a felony, possession of medical marijuana without a license, possession of a controlled substance, carrying a weapon, drugs or alcohol into a jail.
The felony offense could also carry to years in jail and or a fine.
Massey noted, however, that the two sussuspects are not persons of interest in the vandalism on the east side of Watonga where cars and buildings were tagged with initials.
The person associated with the initials was questioned in the incidents, but was determined to not be involved in the vandalism, and none of the vandalism is considered gang-related at this point.
If anyone has seen anything suspicious or found images on doorbell cameras that could be useful in identifying the vandals, Massey asks that they contact the police department. She also suggested that residents leave exterior lights on at their homes overnight to deter vandalism.
