SENIOR CENTER NEWS

Hi, everyone! I hope you have had a good week. It’s been pretty quiet for me. I haven’t been getting out much lately. I have some surgery planned in a few weeks and hopefully I’ll feel better after that.

In the meantime, here’s a reminder about the chicken noodle dinner and cake auction. It will be held from 5-7 p.m. April 5. They are needing volunteers to help serve. Please call the center if you would be able to help them with this fundraiser. I’m hopeful there’ll be a big turnout as this is the center’s main fundraiser for the year. There’s also a cake auction. If you’d like to donate a cake for this auction it would be greatly appreciated. Let them know at the center if you can help. Thanks.

I’m told the board voted to change the serving hours for the daily meals. They will now be serving from 11:30 a.m.- 12:30 p.m. This will serve all those that go to lunch at noon better. Continue to call by 10 a.m. if you need a meal delivered, but now you can order a meal to go all the way up to 12:30.

Betty Gauer and John and Sharon Gates renewed their memberships. Thank you for staying with us. We need everyone to come and help us out.

The quilters last week were Louise Cooper and Judy Curtin. They worked on the new quilt in the frame. Thanks, Louise and Judy.

Joy Moon donated to the center last week. Thanks, Joy. We appreciate it.

Last week Vernon Brickman delivered meals on wheels for two days and the other meals were delivered by Janice Hood, Sharon Barnes and Curt and Brenda Stein. Thanks to all of you for your help. Last Saturday night there were 24 people that came in for games, music and food. I didn’t go but I’m sure they had a good time. They’ll next meet at 6 p.m. April 13. Come and join us then.

Thursday, March 28 – Breaded pork loin Friday – Roast beef birthday dinner Monday – Chicken strips Tuesday – Chicken fried steak Wednesday – Kiwanis meets at noon, we eat at 11:30 Thursday, April 4 – Baked chicken Friday – Indian tacos And Friday night it’s chicken and noodles followed by the cake auction. Make plans to come!
