Lady Eagles Rebound from Loss with 20 Point Victory

For the second time this season the Watonga Lady Eagles fell to #3 ranked in Class 2A, Cashion Lady Wildcats, 58-37 last Friday night, even with senior point guard Allie Baker scoring 13 points.
 
Early in Friday night’s game, the Lady Eagles controlled the tempo and held Cashion’s offense in check. The Lady Wildcats struggled mightily out of the gate as Watonga’s defense held Cashion’s shooters to a 0-9 start from the field. The Lady Eagles held a 6-2 lead halfway through the period prompting a pair of early timeouts from the ranked Lady Wildcats. Out of the timeout Cashion’s offense got going as they scored 5 straight points to carry a 7-6 lead into the second quarter. Cashion grabbed the lead for good against Watonga on a two-pointer from Rylee Broadbent in the second period and held on, as the Lady Wildcats offense outscored Watonga 37-14 during the second and third quarters, to turn a close game upside down.
