Galeela Waunette McCall 1937~2017

Galeela Waunette McCall was born April 26, 1937 at Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to Bill Lee and Iva Estella Wilson and passed away Monday, October 2, 2017 at the age of 80. Galeela was raised in Thomas, Oklahoma and graduated from Thomas High School in 1955. She attended Southwestern Oklahoma State University and received her Bachelor’s degree in 1969 and attended Southwestern Oklahoma State University where she received her Masters of Education in 1984. She taught for one year in Canute and taught for 30 years at the Watonga Grade School from which she retired in 1999. Galeela was a resident of the Watonga area since 1970 where she was very active in the First United Methodist Church with the youth group, VBS and the UMW. She was also a member of the Watonga Community Theater. Galeela enjoyed taking trips to Lake Tenkiller, snow skiing with her family, spending time at family reunions at Red Rock Canyon, and attending sporting events. She loved her church and being active with all the church events as well as reading her bible daily. Galeela enjoyed all her students and loved being a teacher. Talking on the phone with friends and family, watching Hallmark movies, and looking through Facebook was one of her favorite past times, but most of all Galeela loved spending time with her family and cooking for them. She married Lewis McCall on September 9, 1955 at Thomas, Oklahoma. Galeela was preceded in death by her parents and is survived by: Her husband: Lewis Gene (Sally) of the home in Watonga, OK; One daughter: Kathryn Allen and husband Louis Ray of Greenfield, OK; Two sons: Troy McCall and wife Melinda of Amarillo, TX; Tim McCall and wife Suzanne of Edmond, OK; Two sisters: Billie Sue of Elk City, OK; Brenda Thomason and husband Bryan of Edmond, OK; Two brothers: Warren Wilson and wife Deloris of Clinton, OK; Darrel Wilson and wife Joi of Weatherford, OK; Eight grandchildren: Rusty Allen of Tuttle, OK, Dusty Allen of Ft. Worth, TX, Brandy Allner of Lincoln, NE, Kyle McCall of Richmond, VA, Kaylee Sparks of Amarillo, TX, McKenzy Allen of Greenfield, OK, Sarah McCall of Chicago, IL, and Wilson McCall of Edmond, OK; 8 great grandchildren: Levi Allen, Laela Blair and Ryne Allner, Tate and Reid Allen, Jonan, Sophie and Lincoln Sparks. Allner great grandson on the way. The family held a visitation for family and friends at Wilkinson Mortuary on Friday, October 6, 2017. Funeral services were held Saturday, October 7, 2017, at the First United Methodist Church in Watonga with Rev. Tracy Ivey officiating. A private family burial followed at the Mound Valley Cemetery in Thomas, OK. Wilkinson Mortuary of Watonga in charge of arrangements.
