Local K9 Unit in Need of Support

Since a local citizen stepped forward during a Watonga City Council meeting to donate his K9 to the City of Watonga Police Department, the K9 Mate, has earned his keep.

This past November, Mate was able to locate 14 bags of methamphetamines during a few traffic stops. Mate also found multiple pieces of drug paraphernalia and digital scales. Four arrests were made, including a charge of “possession of a controlled dangerous substance” (meth) “with the intent to distribute”.
