Watonga Hospital Receives Upgrade

Before a recent upgrade, workers at Mercy Hospital Watonga’s emergency department treated patients in a single room divided by a curtain that offered little privacy.

More than one patient in the ER was considered overflow, which would happen numerous times throughout the day, according to Robert Spencer, MD.

Overflow patients had to be seen in a former delivery room, wait or be sent to a different hospital if their condition warranted intensive care.
