The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has updated its recommendations for quarantine.

Individuals who have had close contact with someone who has tested positive for Covid-19 (within six feet for 15 minutes or more) should stay home until 14 days after that contact. During that time, check temperatures twice daily and stay away from anyone who might be at an elevated risk for serious illness from the virus, including those with compromised immune systems.

If a person has symptoms and knows or believes they have Covid-19, they should remain home for at least 10 days after the first appearance of symptoms. This is at least 24 hours after the fever subsided without medication and other symptoms have improved.

If a person has a positive test, they should remain isolated for 10 days after the test. If symptoms have subsided, there is no need for a second test.
