Blaine County Quilt Guild Meeting Updates

Our meeting for September was held on the 21st with a big gathering of members and two guests in attendance. Prior to the meeting, we were honored to be able to take a bit of Patsy Davis home with us as her family donated fabric and notions to our guild for us to choose what we wanted to take home with us. Our appreciation was shown by each one of us making a donation to the Senior Citizens Center (Center) in her name. Patsy was a big supporter of the Center.

Business details were handled as usual and then some of our favorite things followed such as celebrating birthdays, winning gift certificates, learning tips, seeing a new gadget, and drooling over items made by members in our “sew and tell” segment.

One of the guests, Gene Matli, gave us information on how she made the quilt that is currently hanging in the Center.

The program for the evening consisted of playing a game of “Strip Poker” using fabric strips as the ante. You should have heard all the commotion—laughter and hollering! It was great to hear in these odd times we are adjusting to!

I want to say thank you to the readers of our article for enduring my ramblings each month. Since September was my last month as president, you will see another one of our fabulous members taking over the article writing following our October 19th meeting. Guests are always welcomed from near and far and doors are opened by 6:30 p.m. at the Watonga Senior Citizens Center.

New officers are: Margaret Stangl, President; Naida Kerr, Vice-President; Beth Massey, Secretary; and returning Treasurer, Angie Rusch.

September attendees were: Yanina Mullins, Naida Kerr, Margaret Stangl, Marsha Matli, Judy Poarch, Mae Thompson, Karen Gilliland, Amy Adams, Heather Hawk, Angie Rusch, Velta Quintle, Judy Bivings, Janice Hood, Darlene Lewis, Mina Green, Donna Oler, and guests Claudia Meyer (now a member) and Gene Matli.
