Man Stabbed in Watonga

Postings on social media from Aug. 24 indicated a man wandered into a local convenience store late in the evening asking for help. He told other customers he had been out walking when he was set upon by four other men who attacked him with a knife or knives. The posts said the man was sliced rather than stabbed. He was taken to OU Medical for treatment.

Follow up with the Watonga Police Department, though, tells a slightly different story. Officer Brian Johnson of WPD said the injured man had become uncooperative. As such, Johnson had very little information to disclose on the situation, which remains under investigation
