Pride in Watonga Lawns Contest Winners

First round winners of the Watonga American Legion Pride in Watonga Lawns contest were announced by Legion Commander Neal Riley.

Five exceptional lawns and landscaping were selected last weekend as the best in the Watonga City Limit. Here is the key to the homeowners and locations

A. (west of Hwy. 8) -- Basil and Dana Taylor, 902 Villa Dr.

B. (north of 11th St.) – Kay Province, 106 Boston Drive.

C. (east of Forrest St.) – Eddie and Jackie Lewis, 611 E. “B” St.

D. (south of 3rd St.) – Lindsay Doyel, 123 E. 2nd St.

E. (Mid-town) - Veva Daugherty, 220 W. 6th St.

Next month’s winners will be announced in the Watonga Republican. Signs designating the Yard of the Month will be placed in winners’ lawns.

If you have a suggestion as to who might qualify as a winner, call in the name and address by July 1 to Watonga Abstract: 623-5017.

Prizes of $50 merchandise value to winners will be provided this month by Jackie’s Lawn and Lube, Clewell’s Hardware & Appliance, Watonga Abstract, Watonga Lumber and Hardware and Stewart Real Estate.

Each winner also receives a free $10 value entry ticket on a 34-inch riding lawnmower. Citizens are asked to support the beautification of Watonga by purchasing chances on the mower. Contact any American Legion member, or go to Watonga Abstract in order to purchase tickets.
