Barbara Jo (Marx) Wigington

Barbara Jo (Marx) Wigington was born on June 5, 1935 in Carnegie, OK to Gus Henry and Velma Willis (Meaker) Marx. She passed away on November 10, 2020 in Edmond, OK at the age of 85. Barbara graduated from Watonga High School and Business School and Company Education. She married Bill Wigington on August 22, 1953 in Watonga, OK. Bill and Barbara adopted 5 children. She worked as secretary for the State of Oklahoma, assistant to Elementary and College Library, testing Administrator for NASDAQ for 12 years, worked 5 years with a stock brokerage firm as cashier, and was co-owner of Wiggee Burger Ranch. She was a member of Greenfield Baptist Church and taught Sunday School. Barbara enjoyed reading and singing.

Survivors Include: her children, James “Jack” Wigington and wife Pam of Bailey, CO, Julia “Judy” Wakely and husband Mike of Edmond, OK, and Bill Duane Wigington of Wilburton, OK, 14 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, her siblings, Sue Ann Hooten of San Angelo, TX, and Patricia Rhodes of Bedford, TX, her in laws, Tom Wigington and wife Fran of Chapel Hill, TN, Choc Wigington and wife Shirley of Greenfield, OK, Glen “Fizz” and wife Charlene of Boerne, TX, Naomi “Tootsie” Kennedy of Mustang, OK, and Gwendolyn “Punkin” McClung of Watonga, OK, nieces nephews, cousins, as well as other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Gus and Velma Marx, her husband, Bill Wigington, two daughters, Pricilla “Kathy” Franklin and Barbara Diane Underwood, and one grandson, Ryan Wigington.

Graveside Serviceswere held at Watonga IOOF Cemetery, Saturday, 1:00 pm, November 14, 2020, Watonga, OK. Officiated by Rev. Howard Head. Services entrusted to Turner Funeral Home, Geary, Oklahoma.
