Carrol Dene “Gill” Gilliland was born September 2, 1934 to Jack and Bessie Mae (Floyd) Gilliland in Muleshoe, TX. He passed away Sunday August 23, 2020 at the Corn Heritage Nursing Home in Weatherford, OK at the age of 85. Gill served 8 years in the Naval Reserves. He was united in marriage to Mary Ann Stanford November 8, 1953 in Oklahoma City. In 1956 he surrendered to the ministry. While attending college Gill worked as a printer for a printing company. His first pastorate was in 1964 in Canadian, TX, in may of 1966 they moved to Witcher Baptist Church and pastored there for 15 years, pastored at Deer Creek Baptist Church in Edmond, Abel Community Baptist Church in Guthrie, Greenfield Baptist Church in Greenfield, and at Trinity Baptist Church in Watonga retiring in June of 2019. He and Mary Ann owned and operated a window and siding company. He enjoyed making jewelry, woodworking, and metal detecting. He was RA Director for Capital Baptist Association for five years, had served on a mission trip to Trinidad, and his favorite part of ministry was teenagers and children.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Bessie Gilliland and one brother, Travis Gilliland.

Gill is survived by his wife, Mary Ann Gilliland of the home, one son, Danny Gilliland and his wife Karen, granddaughter and great granddaughter, Katy Gilliland and Khaleesi Cypert all of Watonga.
