Lady Bison Softball Holds Car Wash Fundraiser

Over the weekend, the Geary High School varsity fast-pitch softball team held a car wash fundraiser under first-year Lady Bison head coach Rick Scott.

Coach Scott said he was very happy with the turnout and success of the fundraiser held on Saturday at R&V Car Wash in Geary, which was aimed towards raising money to help with the costs of keeping Lady Bison players safe while attempting to build a great softball program.

Geary hopes to provide every player with their own helmet during the 2020 fast-pitch regular season in hopes of keeping the student-athletes better protected from COVID-19.

Next week, the Lady Bison varsity squad will continue its preseason summer scrimmages during the two-day Watonga Festival softball tournament held on July 30-31 at Watonga High School.

Thursday, July 30

Watonga vs. Mulhall-Orlando at 10:30 a.m. on South Field.

Geary vs. Covington-Douglas at 10:30 a.m. on North Field.

Mulhall-Orlando vs. Thomas at 12 p.m. on South Field.

Covington-Douglas vs. Mooreland at 12 p.m. on North Field.

Thomas vs. Pioneer at 1:30 p.m. on South Field.

Mooreland vs. Union City at 1:30 p.m. on North Field.

Pioneer vs. Timberlake at 3 p.m. on South Field.

Hinton vs. Union City at 3 p.m. on North Field.

Timberlake vs. Seiling at 4:30 p.m. on South Field.

Hinton vs. Waukomis at 4:30 p.m. on North Field.

The concession stand will be open on July 30-31 and each team must provide at least one game ball.
