Bring More Trails and Biking Projects to Communities

This year's Oklahoma Bicycle Summit Explores Ways to Bring More Trails and Safer Bicycling Projects to Communities The Oklahoma Bicycle Summit will be held on the campus of Rose State College on Oct.13-14. BikeOklahoma and the Oklahoma Bike Summit are excited to bring together transportation professionals and officials, public health staff, cyclists, and their champions to explore what Oklahoma can and what Oklahoma is doing to provide more trail-building and trail-use opportunities. Ken Bryan from the Rails to Trails Conservancy will be opening each day with his ideas on how Oklahoma can develop more to Rail Trails.

Several sessions on Friday will provide some essential tips for community officials and local transportation planners considering a new direction for their community. Multiple Saturday sessions will demonstrate how working with officials at the community level can have a greater impact on policy changes and implementation. Other sessions on Saturday include bike maintenance and equipment tips, how eastern Oklahoma could become the new NW Arkansas, and understanding the legal side of bike crashes. Bring your bikes to enjoy a short ride after each day concludes. Visit www.okbike.org/summit for more information, session details, and to register. Registration each day will include lunch.
