Geary High School and Middle School kicked off their Homecoming Spirit Week last week in recognition of their winter sports basketball and wrestling seasons.
Students were able to compete in Spirit Week activities throughout the week in order to gain points for their respective houses.
The house system was set up this school year, and students earn points throughout the year for things such as attendance, academics, and participation in Spirit Week activities.
The middle school and high school are divided into four houses: Orange Griffins, Green Phoenix, Blue Pegasus and Black Dragons.
Because the district couldn’t hold a pep assembly this year, it decided to continue dress-up-days and activities each day during lunch time.
Spirit Week activities included marshmallow related activities for Flannel Day, challenges using table tennis balls and pencils for Wanna Be Wednesday, donut and twinkie related challenges for Twinkie Day, and toy hoop activities for Freaky Friday.
The house with the most points at the end of the year will get to go on a special field trip.
