Hi everyone! I hope you've had a great week. We've been doing good at the Center. Except when our deep fryer decided to act up and we had to call for repairs. They can't come til Wednesday the 19th. Sure hope they get it fixed. We're scheduled for fried chicken on Friday.

Our meals on wheels deliverers for last week were Pat Brewer, Mary Brown and Karen Dugger, Brenda and Curt Stein, Janice Hood, and Vernon Brickman. Thank you all for all your help.

Regina Glass and Karen Biers both renewed their memberships last week. We're glad to have them as part of our group.

Howard Hursh brought us more fresh eggs. Thank you Howard. Margie Smith brought in cans and Best Choice labels. Thanks Margie.

Local nurses will be in on Friday, January 21st, to check blood pressures and blood sugars. Feel free to come in between 10 and noon to get checked. There's no charge and no appointment is needed. We really appreciate them offering this service to us. You don't have to be a member to see them here.

We will be meeting for music and games on Saturday, January 22nd, from 6 to 9 p.m. Bring a snack and come in and join in the fun. You'll be glad you did.

It looks like we're gonna be letting the bus go back to the state. Karry Kerr is checking into what we need to do. We haven't used it in so long and someone could be using it. we'll see how it goes.

We are in desperate need of a temporary cook. Our cook is gonna be out for a month or so and we really need someone to fill in for her in February. It is a part-time job and she has prepared some items ahead. There is an assistant cook that does the salads and desserts. She also does all the deep frying. If you are interested or know someone that might be, give us a call at 623-4511. The hours would be from 7:30 to 1:30.

We received several donations last week in memory of Tim Curtin. We really appreciate these donations. Tim was a member of our board of directors and will truly be missed. Donations came from Kaylen Waugh, Regina Glass, Volamae Marks, Mark Cox, Raymond and Suzanne Wasniak, John and Sharon Gates, John and Janice Curtin, Frances Ice, Don and Kristin Temple, Pam Shotts, and Deborah Marsh. Thanks to all.

Here's our menu for the next few days. Call us before 10 a.m. for a meal to be delivered, or before noon to order one to go.

Thursday: Liver and Onions

Friday: Fried Chicken

Monday: BBQ Smoked Sausage

Tuesday: Chicken Fried Steak

Wednesday: Kiwanis Meets

Thursday (Jan. 27): Breaded Pork Loin

Friday (Jan. 28): Roast Beef

Don't forget we have biscuits and gravy on Thursday mornings, starting at 8 a.m. It's a donation meal.

If you are a member and your birthday is in January you can get a free meal on Friday, January 28th. Just come and get it. There will be cards and bingo to play after lunch that day.

I hope you all have a great week coming up. Try to stay safe and warm. Covid's still out there. Til next week...
