Easter is Sunday, April 4, and Geary and Watonga residents can look forward to plenty of Easter egg hunt events for their kids this weekend.

Starting in Geary, the Geary Chamber of Commerce will be hosting their annual Easter egg hunt.

The event will take place on Saturday, April 3 at 2 p.m. and will have hunts for different age ranges of kids.

Toddlers, pre-k and kindergarten, first and second grade, and third, fourth, and fifth grade will all get to participate. The park will be

The park will be the main location for the event and will take place on the basketball courts, playground, rodeo arena, and the bowl respectively.

Last year’s Easter egg hunt looked different due to COVID. The chamber had people call in if they wanted to participate and members of the chamber would hide the eggs in their yards.

Due to the excitement of getting to hold it in the park again this year, the chamber has purchased more eggs than previous years’ events with a total of 2000 eggs being hidden this Saturday.

The eggs will include items such as stickers, candy, tattoos, and even money and prizes that have been provided by local Geary businesses that have sponsored the eggs.

“The Geary Chamber would like to invite anyone in the surrounding Geary area to come participate in our annual Easter egg hunt and hunt 2000 Easter eggs!”

Over in Watonga, residents in the area have three different Easter egg hunts to choose from.

The Ferguson Home, Roman State Park, and Kiwanis Club will all be hosting their own Easter egg hunts throughout the day.

The Ferguson Home event will be put on on Saturday at 10 a.m. and will include the opportunity to take photos with the Easter Bunny. Participants of the event must be five years old or younger.

Kids two years old or younger will participate in the hunt that takes place in the yard of the Ferguson Home, and kids ages three to five will be in the lot across the street.

The Easter eggs will be numbered and prizes can be won as a result of your numbered eggs. This year’s prizes are cash with a grand prize of five dollars.

Photos with the Easter Bunny will be five dollars with the money going into the Ferguson Home activity fund.

Over at Roman Nose State Park, their Easter egg hunt will also take place on Saturday at 10 a.m. and will include Easter eggs filled with candy and prizes. The event will take place at the Spring Day Use Area.

There will be three age divisions of 0-3, 4-7, 8-12 that will be able to participate this year.

“We have 3000 eggs for them to come and pick up just to have a fun little celebration of the holiday,” recreation coordinator Sierra Harwood said.

The eggs will include candy as well as prizes such as gift cards for the Foggy Bottom restaurant.

Lastly, the Watonga Kiwanis Club is hosting its annual Easter egg hunt for kids ages 10 and under.

The event will be on Saturday at 1 p.m. at Huff Lorang Park and the Kiwanis Club said they are excited to have kids come out to participate and enjoy the fun.

Get ready for lots of fun for the kids this week, because nobunny will want to miss it.
