The body of a 28-year-old Watonga man was pulled from Canton Lake last Friday after he was found floating, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported.
The man has been identified as Paul W. McLemore. He was pronounced dead by Medical Examiner Emma Prophet, according to the OHP.
His body was transported by Pierce Funeral Home to Pierce Funeral Home and transferred by Alpha Omega and transported to the Oklahoma Medical Examiner's Office in Oklahoma City.
An investigation is continuing into the cause of his death, according to the report.
State Trooper Chris Newcomb of the Marine Enforcement Division reported that shortly after 3 p.m. July 8, McLemore was found floating on Canton Lake near the west end of the dam. The possible drowning incident reportedly occurred at unknown time about two miles north of Canton in Blaine County.
His body was recovered by the Oklahoma Highway Patrol Marine Enforcement and according to the report, it was determined the individual had been floating for several days.
A personal flotation device was not in use, the report stated.
Trooper Newcomb was assisted by Troopers George Hoyle and Broden Carls of Troop J, the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation, the Blaine County Sheriff's office, the Canton and Eagle City Fire Departments and Blaine EMS.
