“Active Parenting” Program

Major and Blaine Counties OSU Extension is offering a program for parents, grandparents, child care providers and other caregivers titled “Active Parenting.”

In the program, the following topics will be addressed: being an active parent, cooperation and communication, responsibility and discipline, building courage and self-esteem, understanding and redirecting misbehavior, and active parenting for school success.

“Active Parenting” will be from 6-8 p.m. in the First Baptist Church Fellowship Hall in Okeene on the following days: Jan. 7, 14, 21, 28.

Dana Baldwin, extension educator-family and consumer sciences/4-H youth development, is the program coordinator. Participants should attend all four session to complete the program, which will consist of group discussions, video presentations, and handson-activities.

There is a $20 fee per participant for the program and pre-registration is preferred by Jan. 5.
