Why do you want to be a county commissioner?

Serving the public as an owner of a grocery store, working as a market manager locally, or serving on the Watonga City Council, has granted me the opportunity to listen to the needs of many. Serving on the city council and working in the Blaine County Assessor's office have afforded me the opportunities to see how local government works. Becoming District Three’s County Commissioner would allow me to prioritize and facilitate the needs of the county and its citizens. Collaborating with the City of Watonga to build a strong working relationship is a priority to gain insight into the needs in the district. I also plan to collaborate with State and District representatives to gain funding through grant opportunities for much-needed infrastructure improvements. Evaluation and realignment of the district's budget is a top priority. Allocation of funds, assessment of our district's current structures, and repurposing of some unoccupied areas to address some of the district's critical need areas, especially the Blaine County Jail and Sheriff's office are crucial. Along with the other two county commissioners, I would be our district's policy maker, business manager, and steward of finances. County commissioners are responsible for much more than building and maintaining county roads.
