The Blaine County 4-H Achievement program was held on Sunday, August 15th afternoon at the Blaine County Fairgrounds. The theme was “4-H, A Universe of Possibilities”. 4-H Members who summitted 4-H Record Books were awarded for their efforts this year. The highlight of the afternoon was when Reiley Luckie, 4-H member from Okeene was awarded County 4-H Hall of Fame. Reiley has been in 4-H for eight years and is very involved in beef, leadership, and citizenship. His picture will hang in the courthouse for a year. Reiley is the son of Jim and Carrie Luckie. Sponsors of this award are Bank 7 and Anita and Alvin Woodruff.

County 4-H Officers were installed. Officers are President- Jack Luckie; Vice-President- Avery Fisher; Secretary- Maggie Clark; Treasurer- Reiley Luckie; Reporter- Kinze Cowan; Parliamentarian- Grant Robison; and Recreation Leaders-Macie Clark, Jayce Schultz, and Caleigh Scheihing.

Guest Speaker for the event was our very own Blaine County 4-H member, Avery Fisher. Avery was recently selected as an Oklahoma 4-H State Ambassador. She told the group how 

she was a once first year 4-H member setting in the audience and after attending District Leadership Conference and State 4-H Round-Up last year she knew that she wanted to become a State 4-H Ambassador and how she worked to achieve her goal. She challenged the 4-H member to set goals for themselves and get involved in their community, county, and state activities.

Junior Key awards (Outstanding Junior 4-H Members in the county) went to Keela Cowan of Watonga and Baylea Robison of Okeene.

Two outstanding 4-H members from each club were selected: Award winners from Canton were Brieley Scott and Macie Clark, Okeene: Avery Fisher and Jayce Schultz, and Watonga Brayden Cowan and Caleigh Scheihing.

First time Record Book award winners were Emery Fisher of Okeene, Grady Scheihing, Kase Hilterbran and Cord Cowan of Watonga. They received a 4-H Member Gate Sign.

Medal winner and County Special award winners were: Canton Club: Macie Clark-Home Environment and Plant Science Medals and the County woodworking award and the Clewell Family Hardware Award; Maggie Clark- Agriculture and Pets and the County Health and Wellness Award and County Goat Award; Brieley Scott-Healthy Living medal and the County Health and Wellness award and County Sheep Award.

Okeene Club: Grant Robinson-Outdoor Education and Recreation Medals and the County Agriculture and NorthStar Awards; Avery Fisher-Leadership and Community Service medals and the Senior County Clothing Award, Farm Bureau Award and County Champion Intermediate Illustration Presentation Award; Reiley Luckie- Wildlife and Fishery Medal, Washington Focus Trip winner and the County Danforth Award; Logan Chance- cooking and Dogs medal and the county Sheep award; Jack Luckie-Technology/Engineering and Wildlife and Fishery medals and County Wildlife Award.

winner in the district 26 State Senate contest.

Voters in precincts 16 and 17 will vote on a $30,720,000 school bond issue for the Geary school district.

Geary School Supt. Sean Buchanan said if approved, the funds will be used to construct a whole new campus.
