Oklahoma City – Keep Oklahoma Beautiful has announced the recipients of Roadside and Environmental grants to assist communities in beautification, litter remediation and environmental sustainability projects.

Keep Oklahoma Beautiful Affiliates across the state received funds to bolster financial support through funding for environmental and roadside beautification projects. Grants ranged from $1,000-$4,000 and were provided through a partnership with the Oklahoma Department of Environmental Quality and Oklahoma Department of Transportation.

Funds will be used for projects such as equipment repairs and painting, wildflower planting, tree removal and replacement, monarch habitat, recycling programs, trash receptacles, pocket parks, farmers markets and mural projects.

“Our partnership with ODOT and DEQ provides critical resources for municipalities and organizations who are committed to improving their towns and cities,” said Keep Oklahoma Beautiful executive director Evelyn Schaefer. “Our affiliates are our ‘boots on the ground” who provide the ideas, labor and other resources to make their communities a better place to live and work.”
