A traffic stop made by a Blaine County deputy sheriff earlier this week reportedly led to a significant drug bust that resulted in the confiscation of marijuana and other drugs.

A report posted by the Blaine County Sheriff's Office states that in the early morning hours of Monday morning, Aug. 22, 'one of our deputies conducted a traffic stop on a U-Haul box truck traveling from Los Angeles, Calif., to Pennsylvania. During the stop, our deputy believed that criminal activity was occurring due to several indications.'

The report continued, 'Our deputy and K-9 Neo conducted a search of the vehicle and located marijuana inside of the cab. A further search of the rear of the box truck by several deputies led to locating over 150 pounds of marijuana that was hidden inside of a couch, love seat and boxes.'

According to the report, deputies also located over 12 pounds of psilocybin (mushrooms).

The report noted, 'Our deputies continue to be proactive in removing illegal narcotics from our streets.'

The report points out the Blaine County deputies were also assisted by Watonga Police Department officers during the traffic stop and locating the illegal narcotics.
