This report is for the period from March 23rd through April 5th. During this period the Geary Police Department issued 4 written Municipal or District Court citations.

On March 23rd at approximately 4:20 pm Geary Police officers were called to a vacant residence located in the 100 block of North Aurora to take a theft report. The owner of the residence reported someone had broken into an inoperable vehicle that was parked in the open garage and stole several automotive accessories out of the vehicle. Officers continue to investigate this theft and ask if anyone has any information about it to please contact the Geary Police Department at 405-884-2167.

On March 25th at approximately 5:17 pm Geary Police officers were called to a residence located in the 300 block of North Broadway to take a report of a burglary. The owner of the residence reported someone had broken into a parked car at the residence and stole some personal items from inside of it before breaking into the residence where they stole some money, several household items and some electronics. Geary Police officers are currently following several leads and ask if anyone has any information about this theft to please call the Geary Police Department at 405- 884-2167.

Secure your property and lock your doors. On April 2nd during the overnight period we had approximately 10 vehicles that were opened and gone through. Thankfully there was very little property stolen and our Officers arrested two juvenile males from the Weatherford area in connection with these incidents. In all of the incidents the juvenile males admitted the vehicle doors were unlocked and easy to get into. Please remember to secure your property and lock your doors to better protect yourself and your property. These types of crimes are crimes of opportunity which require little to no effort to commit.

On March 30th at approximately 3:30 pm Geary Police officers were called to the Family Dollar Store located in the 100 block of North Broadway to take a report of slander against a store employee. The victim reported they had been slandered by an individual over information surrounding the Covid-19 virus. The victim reported this is causing a lot of stress for them, the community and the business. Officers have completed their report and it will be submitted to the Blaine County District Attorney’s Office for charges to be filed.

On March 30th at approximately 7:20 Pm Geary Police officers met with a male and female who came into the Police Department to report domestic abuse. The two victims reported they had been physically assaulted by a male family member while at their residence located in the 600 block of Southwest Boulevard. Officers obtained the identity of the male suspect and he had fled the residence prior to officer’s arrival. The male suspect also has an order of protection filed against him by one of the victims. Officers were unable to locate the male suspect and have completed their report which will be submitted to the Blaine County District Attorney’s Office for charges to be filed and an arrest warrant issued.

On March 31st at approximately 1:00 am Geary Police officers were called to a residence located in the 700 block of South Rock Island for a report of an attempted larceny report. The owner of the property reported to officers that someone had attempted to break into their locked vehicle but were unsuccessful. The owner of the property reported nothing stole and the vehicle was not damaged. Officers continue to look into this incident.

On April 2nd at approximately 9:13 am Geary Police officers were called to a residence located in the 200 block of South Arapaho to take a theft report. The owner of the property reported someone had gotten into their parked vehicle and stole several items of value. The owner of the residence provided officers with a copy of video surveillance showing two subjects committing the crime. Later the same day officers arrested two juvenile males from the Weatherford area in connection with this theft and several other incidents occurring on April 2nd. The juvenile males were wearing the clothing shown in the surveillance video. Officers are continuing to follow leads for more possible suspects and they will submit their report to the Office of Juvenile Affairs once their investigation is completed. On April 4th at approximately 3:41 pm Geary Police officers were called to the Cherokee Travel Plaza which is located at Highway 281 and Highway 66 for a report of counterfeit money. A clerk at the store reported a male subject had attempted to pass a counterfeit $100 dollar bill but was denied. The clerk reported the male suspect abruptly left the store when they denied taking the counterfeit money. Officers continue to investigate this incident.
