This report is for the period from July 6th through August 2nd. During this period, the Geary Police Department wrote 34 Municipal or District Court Citations.

On July 7, 2020 at approximately 11:43 pm Geary Police officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop with a vehicle that had defective equipment near Highway 281 Spur and the Interstate 40 eastbound on ramp. The driver of the vehicle failed to stop for officers and a pursuit was initiated eastbound on Interstate 40 towards El Reno. Officers pursued the vehicle at speeds exceeding 100 mph eastbound on Interstate 40 and at one point during the pursuit officers observed the occupants of the vehicle throw what appeared to be a handgun from the vehicle. The pursuit continued east on Interstate 40 and entered El Reno where Canadian County Deputies joined in the pursuit. Canadian County Deputies performed a T.V.I. (Tactical Vehicle Intervention) on the suspect vehicle causing it to lose control ending the pursuit. Officers arrested a male subject identified as Sean Mycal Lewsader of Bethany, Oklahoma and he was booked into the Canadian County jail on Canadian County District Court charges of multiple traffic violations, weapons violations, drug violations and stolen property violations. Officers later retrieved the handgun which was thrown from the suspect vehicle during the pursuit and it was stolen from Grady County residence. A female passenger in the vehicle was issued citations but could still face Canadian County District Court charges.

On July 14th at approximately 2:52 pm Geary Police officers responded to the Cherokee Trading Post located at South Walbaum Road and Highway 281 for a man causing a disturbance inside of the store. Officers arrived and located the man who was identified as 29-year-old Taylor Richard Keyes who was causing the disturbance inside of the business. Store clerks reported that Keyes was picking up merchandise and had no way to pay for it and when he was confronted, he became belligerent towards them. Officers were unable to get Keyes to follow commands and he was uncooperative with them as well. Officers arrested Keyes and he was transported to the Canadian County Jail where he was booked on a District complaint of disorderly conduct.

On July 15th at approximately 10:26 am Geary Police officers were called to the railroad tracks near South Countyline Road and Northeast 2nd for people crawling around on the railroad cars. Officers arrived and located a man identified as Zachary Lee Chavez of Geary at that location and determined he was intoxicated and had been climbing on the railroad cars. Officers arrested Chavez and he was booked into the Geary Municipal jail on Municipal complaints of public intoxication and trespassing.

On July 17th at approximately 9:08 pm Geary Police officers conducted a traffic stop in the 600 block of Southwest Boulevard with a vehicle that had committed a traffic violation. Officers contacted the driver identified as Joshua Cade Wagner of Geary and learned he was driving with a suspended/revoked driver’s license and had no insurance on the vehicle. Officers also discovered Wagner had outstanding arrest warrants. Officers also located a concealed firearm inside of Wagner’s vehicle. Officers arrested Wagner and he was booked into the Blaine County jail on multiple traffic complaints and a complaint of possession of a firearm after a felony conviction.

On July 22nd at approximately 8:50 pm Geary Police officers were called to the Family Dollar Store located in the 100 block of North Broadway for an assault which had just occurred. Officers arrived on scene and took a report from a store employee who had witnessed a male subject assault a female subject while at the store. Officers obtained the identity of both the suspect and victim. Officers located the female victim who reported she had been physically assaulted by an ex-boyfriend while at the store and she would like to file charges. The female victim provided officers with the name of the male suspect and they attempted to locate him at that time but were unsuccessful. Officers have completed their report which has been submitted to the Blaine County District Attorney’s Office where charges are being sought for domestic abuse assault and battery.

On July 27th at approximately 4:34 pm Geary Police officers were called to a residence located in the 600 block of North Aurora for a report of a fight in progress. Officers arrived and were contacted by a female victim who reported she had been physically assaulted by two females who came to her residence. The female victim provided officers with the identity of the two female suspects and officers will complete their report which will be submitted to the Blaine County District Attorney’s Office.

On July 27th at approximately 4:00 pm Geary Municipal Court was held at the Geary City Hall located at 115 South Broadway. The Geary Municipal Court Judge sentenced Daniel Edward Frost, Nathan Duane Putman, and Kyler Keith Shawnee to jail. Officers took all three subjects into custody and they were booked into the Geary Municipal Jail to serve varying lengths of time.

On July 30th at approximately 7:39 pm Geary Police officers were called to the 300 block of North Cheyenne to take a stolen property report. The owner of the residence reported someone had broken into a storage building and stole some tools. Officers have descriptions of the stolen tools but have no suspect.
