Hand In Hand

The Apostle Paul, wrote to the Corinthian church reminding them that “God came to earth in Christ offering peace and forgiveness (reconciliation) to all people through Him.” In other words, through Christ, we have peace with God, we are united with God, and are mentally joined together with God.

Reconciliations is a muchneeded blessing in our world of mistrust, greed, and separation that is so prevalent in families, homes, business, and government today.

There is a touching story of a young girl whose parents had had a miserable marriage and were divorced, having nothing in common save their affection for their child. One day while playing in the street the young girl was injured by a passing vehicle and seriously injured beyond human aid. Summoned to the hospital, her parents heard the sad news and stood silently, one on either side of her bed looking down helplessly at the little girl. As they stood there the child’s eyes opened and seeing her parents she tried to smile. “Daddy” she said, “give me your hand.” Turning to her mother, she said “Mommy, give me your hand.” Then with a final effort she drew them close together,

This is a picture of what Christ did on the cross. He took the hand of sinful humanity and placed it in the loving hand of God. Jesus reconciled us to God. He restored our broken relationship. Just as in this little girl bringing her parents together, Jesus died on the cross to bring us and God together…. it’s called reconciliation…. hand in hand with God.
