Body

I’m writing this before the last edition of the paper came out, so I don’t know if I received any feedback from anyone. It scares me to think about how easily we believers have compromised what we know God wants us to do because they tell us it is for our own safety. Like I said in last week’s article, a faithful Christian should not fear death. He should not fear illness if he is doing what God tells him to do.

Here are some Scriptures we must always remember Matthew 10:28, “And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather fear him who can destroy both soul and body in hell.” We also need to remember Revelation 2:10, “Do not fear what you are about to suffer. Behold, the devil is about to throw some of you into prison, that you may be tested, and for ten days you will have tribulation. Be faithful unto death, and I will give you the crown of life.” 2 Timothy 1:7, “for God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control.”

In Matthew 7:21-23 Jesus said, “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. On that day many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?’ And then will I declare to them, I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.”

Folks, take your Bibles. Read them and find out what God expects of you, and do not let anyone keep you from obeying Him. He is Lord of lords and King of kings.
