Today, we are once again looking at the list of seven things the LORD hates found in Proverbs 6:16-19, “There are six things that the LORD hates, seven that are an abomination to him: haughty eyes, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that devises wicked plans, feet that make haste to run to evil, a false witness who breathes out lies, and one who sows discord among brothers.”

Well, folks, here is #5 of the 7 things God hates: “feet that make haste to run to evil”. Notice how Isaiah 59:4-8 reads in the New Living Translation, “No one cares about being fair and honest. The people’s lawsuits are based on lies. They conceive evil deeds and then give birth to sin. They hatch deadly snakes and weave spiders’ webs. Whoever falls into their webs will die, and there’s danger even in getting near them. Their webs can’t be made into clothing, and nothing they do is productive. All their activity is filled with sin, and violence is their trademark. Their feet run to do evil, and they rush to commit murder. They think only about sinning. Misery and destruction always follow them. They don’t know where to find peace or what it means to be just and good. They have mapped out crooked roads, and no one who follows them knows a moment’s peace.”

I don’t know about you, but that sure seems to describe a lot of people we are surrounded by. “Their feet run to do evil.” We need to say to them like Peter did to the Jews on the Day of Pentecost in Acts 2:40, “Save yourselves from this crooked generation.” I pray for God’s blessings upon you and your family.
