A Lamp to My Feet

My family and I enjoyed a weekend vacation to Grand Lake in Eastern Oklahoma this past weekend. Something positive I can say about this pandemic is that some parents are finally getting to spend quality and quantity time with their children. My granddaughter was laid off from her job. She has a 4 year old daughter. She is using this time off to get more education and practice being a better mother and wife.

A friend of mine was laid off from his job. I caught him one day at home. His 5 year old son was right beside him as he worked on a project. My friend told me that he has really enjoyed the extra time he has been able to spend with his 3 children. He said that he had never had the time before because he worked so many hours.

I live close to Canton Lake. I am amazed at the activity at the lake since this virus hit. One man drives about 40 miles each way when he comes to fish at the lake. He told me that fishing keeps him from getting depressed so badly as when he stays at home and watches TV all day. I read a comment that fishing is now the #1 sport in the USA.
