Leads Go Nowhere In Solving Home Invasions

Although it seems all eyes are on the news about the pandemic, work continues on criminal cases.

According to Undersheriff David Robertson, two of those cases are home invasions that took place in Blaine County early in the year. In each instance, an elderly resident was home alone when a suspect, described as a young stocky black male, forced his way into the home. Once inside, he assaulted the resident, displaying a pistol, stole items from the home and left in the victim’s car.

Robertson said the Blaine County Sheriff’s Department has pursued hundreds of leads or tips on the identity and whereabouts of the intruder, but none have turned up the suspect. The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation (OSBI) has not yet returned the results of DNA and fingerprints taken from the scenes and Robertson said that office, already backed up before the recent turn of events, was now even more in demand and working with fewer staffers as it deals with the Covid-19 pandemic. There has been no indication when the results will be returned.
