STILLWATER — The OERB hosted a First Responder Training workshop at the OSU Fire Service Training Center in Stillwater to educate firefighters about the best practices in developing a response plan for oil and natural gas sites.

The two-day training was taught by oil and natural gas professionals and OSU Fire Service Training staff. The course, which was provided at no cost to firefighters, mixes a classroom component and with hands-on live burn exercises. The training for the course also fulfills the requirements for Firefighter II certification.

Kolton Mooney, who is a firefighter from the Geary Fire Department, attended the training.

This was the first workshop for the program. The free training is funded by the people of Oklahoma Oil & Natural Gas as a continued effort to be a good neighbor in communities where we live and work.
