As of Sept. 1, when the Oklahoma State Department of Health issued its data on the Covid-19 virus, there are 59,399 confirmed positive cases in Oklahoma. There are nine additional deaths reported, none in the past 24 hours. This brings the death toll to 809.

Blaine County shows 75 confirmed cases, one death in the Canton area, a male in the 65 or older group, and 54 recoveries. This indicates 21 active cases. There have been no new cases reported as of Sept. 1 and four recoveries. There are two active cases in each Canton and Geary, two more in Hitchcock, a single case in Okeene and 14 active cases in Watonga area.

The OSDH website notes that the data is constantly changing to reflect a situation that remains fluid. Updates are made daily, including to correcting home addresses, city and county of patients. Entering those numbers into the system takes time and may also be slowed by investigation into and verification of numbers. The notation is made in an effort to explain why the numbers broken out by county and city may not correlate with totals or with the numbers issued by emergency management.

Nationally, there are 6,030,587 cases up 34,156 since the last report and 183,597, deaths, up 531 since last report. There are 3,662,165 active cases, up 2,739 since the last numbers were issued, while recoveries are up 30,886 to 2,184, 825.
