National Public Radio affiliate KOSU reporters Kateleigh Mills and Seth Bodine held informal conversations in Watonga last week to learn more about life here and life outside the big city.

They were hosted by Joe and Teresa Bryan and representatives of Watonga business, government and culture.

Andy and Linda Barrett provided some information about some of their civic and cultural activities over lunch at the Roman Nose Lodge.

Government and farm issues were discussed by Interim City Manager Larry Mitchell and Councilman Bill Seitter.

Quinton Roman Nose discussed some health and educational issues pertaining to the Cheyenne-Arapaho Tribes.

Karen Gilliland and Patt Curtin discussed the Watonga Public Library, including outreach to readers during the CoViD-19 pandemic. The Mother Goose productions over the internet have been a big hit. They also provided information on the Liberty Theater with its many live theater and musical performances and the new LED Marque collaboration with the city.

In addition, Mills and Bodine had a phone conversation with Thomas Martinez, the new editor of the newspapers in Watonga-Geary, Cordell and Hinton.
