Hi, everyone! I hope you’re all able to stay inside this terribly cold weather. It is too cold for me, I’m staying in as much as I can.

I hope it is warmer by Thursday, Jan. 18. It will be me and John’s 61st anniversary. It snowed when we got married at Geary.

The quilter continue working on the quilt, it has been slow going. There are not enough quilters. They sure could use your help if you’re a quilter or would like to learn. Come check it out one day, they quilt on Thursday mornings. Last week it was Judy, Estalene and Louise.

Kathryn Diamond brought in cans and bar codes. Thank you, Kathryn.

We have receive several memorial donations and are so thankful for them. Rick and Carrie Compton, Curtis and Liz Schenk, Yvonne Christensen and First State Bank donated in memory of Larry Bernhardt. Yvonne also donated in memory of Flo Rickey and Marvin Daughtery. Donna Kohl donated in memory of Larry Bernhardt and Maxine Peters. Thank you all for your memorial gifts, we appreciate them all.

Saturday night some of us braved the cold to play games and listen to some good music performed by Tom Autry and David Greene. They really do so good. We had 20 brave souls come out, but several of our regulars couldn’t make it for various reasons. But those who did come out sure had a good time. We will meet again at 6 p.m. on January 27. Come in out of the cold and join the fun.

Last week found our regulars delivering meals; Curt and Brenda Stein, Janice Hood and Vernon Brickman and Sharon Barnes delivered two days.

If you need a meal delivered call us before 10 a.m. and for one to go, call us before noon.

Here is our menu for the next few days Thursday, Jan. 18 – Liver and onions Friday – Fried chicken Monday – Chili and vegetable soup Tuesday – Chicken strips Wednesday – Kiwanis meets at noon, we eat about 11 a.m.

Thursday, Jan. 25 – Baked chicken Friday – Roast beef birthday dinner.

And we have biscuits and gravy beginning at 8 a.m. on Thursdays. Come in and eat with us or get one to go.

That’s about all my news for this week. I hope you’ve all been able to stay warm and well during the cold weather. Maybe we’ll get a warm break for a few days. Take care of yourselves, stay safe and warm. ‘Til next week…
