Hi, everybody! I hope you’ve all had a good week. I’ve watched a lot of football. Some turned out like I wanted and some did not. I was sad to see Green Bay get beat, but glad to see Kansas City win. I’m a real football fan, it doesn’t always matter who’s playing.

Saturday Jan. 27 will be game night at the Senior Center. Come at 6 p.m. and bring a covered dish. We’ll have a good time. I hope it’s not as cold as last time.

Dorothy Jameson renewed her membership. That means another year of good meals. Thanks, Dorothy.

Mable and Brenda Rice donated cans and Best Choice labels. Richard and Sandra Hightower donated in memory of Larry Bernhardt.

Quilters last week were Louise Cooper, Estalene Teply and Judy Curtin. They do such good work, but they could sure use more quilters. I remember when the quilt frame was surrounded by eight or 10 ladies. They could get a quilt done in no time. If you like to quilt or want to learn, come in on Thursdays and join them. They stay until about 10:30.

The folks delivering meals last week were Curt and Brenda Stein, Janice Hood and on three days, Sharon Barnes.

John and I went down to the center last Thursday and had some really good liver and onions. John eats it because he likes it. I eat it for the nourishment it provides. We even went back on Friday for fried chicken. Janie knows how to cook it from her days at the End O’Main and it is always good.

If there is something you’d like to see on our menu, give Dorothy a call. She might be willing to try something new.

Here’s our menu for the next few days, call before 10 for delivery and before noon to take out: Thursday, Jan. 25 – Baked chicken Friday – Roast beef birthday dinner Monday – Chili and vegetable soup Tuesday – Chicken fried steak Wednesday – Kiwanis meets at noon, we eat at 11 a.m.

Thursday, Feb. 1 – Chicken strips Friday – Indian tacos Surely there is something on that list you would like to eat. Come in and join us or we’ll fix it to go!

Well, I hope you have a good week, try to stay warm and dry. I don’t know about you, but I‘m tired of the weatherman’s dire predictions. I’m ready for some warmer weather so I can get out. Take care, stay safe. ‘Til next week …
