Hello, everybody! I hope you’ve had a good week. My week was good, no doctor’s appointment and only one scheduled for this week.

Saturday night there were 23 that came in for games, music and food. John went to play pool. I didn’t go as I had other plans. Our daughter Shannon and I went to Kingfisher to have dinner and watch a murder mystery play. The food was good, and the play was excellent. They included the audience, and we figured out the murderers before the play was over. It was really fun. We’ve gone to several plays by this group, and they’ve always been excellent.

Our next scheduled Saturday night get together was for Oct. 8, however, that is Cheese Festival weekend, and everyone is going to be too tired to show up so the vote was to pass it up for that Saturday. Our next meeting will be at 6 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 22. There will be other reminders.

Speaking of the Cheese Festival, the Senior Citizens will be serving our annual turkey and dressing dinner on that Friday, Oct. 7. It’s a big job but people seem to look for it. If you would like to help us with this dinner, we could sure use your help. We have some signup sheets laid out if you’d like to volunteer some time with this special project. This is one of our main fundraisers for the year. Or call us, and we’ll put your name down. We would sure appreciate any help. We just don’t have the members like we used to have.

Then, the Masons will be serving a pancake breakfast the next day at the center. They do a good job so come on in Saturday morning for breakfast.

We had the four usual quilters in to work on the quilt. It is almost done. Quilters were Judy, Estalene, Gene and Naida.

Several donated items were brought in last week. Virginia Nicks brought in squash, Joyce Rogers brought in okra and cans and Howard Hursh brought in eggs. We are so thankful to all of you for thinking of us with these gifts.

Don and Kristen Temple donated in memory of Tim Curtin’s birthday. Thank you for this donation, we miss Tim.

Mike Russell and Mary Brown both renewed their memberships. We sure appreciate both of you.

Our meal carriers last week were Teresa Bryan, Sharon Barnes, Curt and Brenda Stein, Janice Hood and Pat Brewer. Thank you to all of you for helping us with this project. The folks you deliver to look forward to seeing you each day.

Here’s our menu for the next few days. Call us for delivery or for pickup. We’ll get it ready for you.

Thursday Sept. 29 Liver and onions Friday, Sept. 30 Roast beef Monday, Oct. 3 Chicken strips Tuesday Oct. 4 Chili dogs and chips Wednesday Kiwanis at noon, we eat at 11 a.m. Thursday Oct. 6 Roast pork sandwiches Friday, Oct. 7 Turkey and dressing.

The cost for the turkey and dressing dinner will be $12 this year, but it will be worth it.

I think that’s about it for this week. I hope you have a great week and get ready for the Cheese Festival and all its fun. ‘Til next week …
