Hi everybody! I hope you are all warm and cozy as we prepare for the ice and sleet and snow that’s coming. It will probably be done by the time you read this, I hope so.

Those that delivered meals last week were Pat Brewer, Brenda and Curt Stein, Janice hood and Sharon Barnes delivered two days. Thanks to all of you.

We had a couple of donations; Kathryn Diamond donated books and the Lions Club donated bread. We really appreciate both these donations.

The Sinclair and Pemberton families donated in memory of Wanda Sinclair. We’re thankful for their donation.

Dorothy Jamison renewed her membership. We’re glad to have Dorothy as part of our group.

Seven of our ladies made pies or cakes for the Lions Club cake auction after their meal. I understand they raised a good amount of money for their scholarship fund. They always give out several scholarships to some of the graduating seniors. It’s a great project.

Velta Quintel brought in a beautiful quilt that has been hung for everyone to see. It is an unusual pattern. I’m sure it must have taken her quite some time to cut the pieces and then put it all together. Great job, Velta. Everyone needs to come by and see it.

The quilting ladies finished the quilt that was in the frame. It was really pretty. It was put together by Connie Burcham. Nice job, Connie! We need another quilt to be put in the frame and quilted. If you have one, let us know since the frame is empty.

Last Saturday night we had 27 come in for games, music and food. We had a great time. We’ll meet again Feb. 17. Make plans to come out and join us.

Here’s our menu for the next several days. Call us before 10 a.m. for a delivered meal and before noon for a meal to be picked up.

Thursday Feb. 2 – Turkey pot pie Friday – Indian Tacos Monday – Taco Salad Tuesday – Sausage and potato casserole Wednesday – Kiwanis meets at noon, we eat at 11 a.m.

Thursday Feb. 9 – BBQ ribs Friday – Steak Fingers There is always biscuits and gravy on Thursday mornings for donation.

WE just got word recently one of our longtime cooks, Janie, has decided to leave us. We’ll be needing another cook soon. If you know someone looking for a job, send them our way. We’ll need a second cook as soon as possible.

Well, that’s all my news for this week. I hope you all have a good week and take care of yourselves. Stay safe and stay well. ‘ Til next week …
