It is now time to select or update health care coverage for 2023. Those enrolling can log on to Healthcare.gov to find a health care plan that fits them. By logging on applicants can look at and compare plans and costs, find out if they are eligible for cost savings and tax credits and use the checklist for documents needed to apply.
Local agencies shown on the website include State Farm in Watonga, Lorrie Moore and Phyllis Westfahl in Okeene and Damon Hamons in Hydro.
The website can also guide you through other insurance issues, like how to apply if your income exceeds levels for tax credits and how to change plans if you have already enrolled. BlueCross/BlueShield of Oklahoma offers assistance as well by calling 888-346-9636 or logging on to My-BlueHMOSM. BCBS claims it was the first company to participate in the marketplace in Oklahoma.
Open enrollment continues into January; however, to have coverage as of Jan. 1, enrollment must be completed by Dec. 15.
