Why do you want to be a county commissioner?

My goal as a county commissioner is to be a voice for the citizens and the taxpayers of Blaine County. I think we’re a little lacking on information shared to the community, as far as what projects the county’s working on.

In talking to people, I feel like they’re not informed. Say maybe the county crew is out working on a bridge, or pulling up a road, or doing a special project on the east side on the county. The people don’t see them out working, so some feel like they aren’t working at all. I don’t feel like that’s fair to the guys. I think if we had some sort of reporting system of all the projects going on, it would keep the people better informed of what’s going on.

It’s a big undertaking. The county commissioner job isn’t just grading roads, though that’s a big part of it. I feel like I have the opportunity to make our county better, and that’s the goal. I’m not promising anybody that I can fix everything that’s wrong, but I do think we can make it better than we are, and maybe keep our citizens and taxpayers more informed of what’s going on.
