The Watonga Eagles Class of 1970 celebrated a delayed 50th reunion (actually 52 years) on Saturday and Sunday June 11 and 12. A few members of the class of 1969, 1971 and 1972 also joined the celebration. Of 71 in the graduating class of 1970, 32 met at the convention center at the Lucky Star Casino in Watonga. Mike Knisley was the Master of Ceremonies and read two poems he has written about Watonga and Oklahoma. Bill Seitter, the Mayor of Watonga gave an update of progress at the Watonga Public School (he was formerly the superintendent) and City of Watonga. Unfortunately, 18 members of the class have already passed, and we remembered them with a moment of silence.
