Watonga Seeks New Police Chief

WATONGA — John Noriega, Watonga Chief of Police, has decided to leave his post. In a statement from Noriega, he wrote “I have reached a point in my life where I am going to retire from law enforcement and get ready for the next chapter. I appreciate the support the City of Watonga has shown me during my short tenure, and I wish each of you all the best.”

The City of Watonga is now in need of a new Chief of Police. If you are interested in applying for the position submit your resume and application to City Manager at watongacm@gmail.com no later than July 7, 2022. The application can be found at the City of Watonga’s website at watongaok.gov.
