The Caddo County Retired Educators held its monthly meeting on Thursday, November 9. The group met in Carnegie and then traveled to Medicine Park. Even though it was a cold, windy day, there were still 21 in attendance.

When Aberdeen Enterprizes II threatened to have her arrested over $1,200 in outstanding court fines and fees, Kendy Killman became a prisoner in her own home. The mother of eight feared being arrested unexpectedly, so she avoided unnecessary trips to the grocery store or her children’s school.

Indictments Handed Down in Watonga Facility Raid

On Monday, a Federal Grand Jury handed down an indictment for Zheng Fu Zheng, also known as Zhe Zheng, who was charged as part of the May bust at the marijuana grow operation, Cyco Flower, located inside the former Hollytex Carpet factory.

State Releases School Report Cards

The school report cards for Oklahoma have been released, and overall, the results were underwhelming. Reading proficiency showed a decline overall, from 27.2% to 26.3% - a net decrease of 0.9% from 2022. Eighth grade reading scores showed only 19.3% were proficient in 2023, a 5.7% decrease.
