Blaine County didn’t have a white Christmas, with unseasonably warm weather lasting throughout the month of December. Temperatures plummeted on New Year’s Day, however, and western Oklahoma greeted 2022 with a dusting of fresh snow.

Burn Ban in Effect for New Year’s

WATONGA – The Blaine County commissioners voted on Monday, Dec. 27, to extend the county’s burn ban for another week. The ban was originally enacted on Dec. 20 and is being reviewed on a weekly basis during commissioner meetings.

NWOSU Announces Honor Roll for Fall 2021

Fall semester honor rolls at Northwestern Oklahoma State University have been announced by the Office of the Executive Vice President. Those on the President’s Honor Roll earned all A’s, or a 4.0 grade point average (GPA), in a minimum of 12 undergraduate or nine graduate hours.
