Cities and counties in Oklahoma rely heavily on sales taxes paid on items sold in the area and on use taxes, the amount collected on items sold elsewhere and delivered to another city and/or county. For instance, use tax is collected on construction items that arrive locally by truck and on internet sales on sites such as Amazon and are shipped to homes.
