It’s a Wrap

(ABOVE) Congratulations to Andrew Bates on placing sixth in the long jump at the 1A State Track Meet at Western Heights Friday (ABOVE RIGHT) Sixth grade put science, technology, engineering and math skills to the test by making Lego bridges. Bridges had to be wider than a piece of paper without touching it. They tested the structural integrity of their bridges by placing large rocks on them to see how much weight they could hold without collapsing.

(BELOW LEFT) End-of-year activities for second grade included building bee hotels for solitary bees, turning recycled plastic bags into necklaces, exploring AR rewards, and learning about pollination in action.

(BELOW RIGHT) One class took a virtual field trip May 7 to the Museum of Art Glass Exposition. Students explored beautiful glass artwork and learned about the creativity and craftsmanship behind each piece. The experience also strengthened math and science skills as students observed symmetry, patterns, shapes, and measurements in the artwork. We discussed how light interacts with glass, changes in color and reflection, and how temperature affects materials during the glass-making process. It was a meaningful way to connect art with real-world math and science concepts while making learning engaging and handson— even virtually!
