Local volunteers, led by Kinze Cowan, descended upon downtown in preparation for the 50th Watonga Cheese Festival.
Kinze is a senior at WHS and represented Cimarron Electric Cooperative on the Oklahoma Youth Tour this past summer. Kinze’s biggest takeaway from her experience: I learned that being part of a cooperative is about much more than electricity. It is also about giving back, building strong communities, and making a difference in the lives of others. The experience encouraged me to become more involved in my own community and look for ways I can make a positive impact.
Cimarron Electric donated the mulch, Clewell’s Hardware set it out next to each flowerbed, and Donnie Dunn and crew made sure volunteers had all the garden tools needed.
With young leadership like this at the helm, Watonga’s future looks so bright!
