CCSC Football Camp to Be Held on July 8 at OBU

Geary High School, Watonga High School, and other Blaine County area football players who have aspirations to play collegiately are encouraged to attend the 2020 College Coaches Showcase Football Camp on Wednesday, July 8 at Oklahoma Baptist University in Shawnee.

The CCSC is having the camp for players (ranging from classes 2021-2023) interested in showing off their skills and getting to know the NCAA recruitment process.

Six schools and their football coaching staff will be in attendance: host Oklahoma Baptist University, Langston University, McPherson College, Southern Nazarene University, Southwestern Oklahoma State University and Tabor College.

Players will receive instruction from all coaches attending the event and get feedback on football techniques and measurables.

There will be opportunities to ask questions about skills and getting to know the college coaches.

“We aim for a playerto-coach ratio of 8:1 but will not exceed 10:1,” stated the CCSC on the official event website. “This ensures that the coaches can spend quality time with all players attending and are not overwhelmed with large camp numbers. This also ensures that prospects will have time to interact with the coaches and learn from them in a small group and one-on-one setting.”

An open discussion will be held about the NCAA recruiting process, rules and regulations.

Parents are encouraged to either stay or come back for this segment because questions are encouraged to help bust myths about the recruiting process.

There will be two sessions offered for this camp. Players can sign up for $179 per offense session, defense session, or kicking and punting session.

Also, an option would be $279 for both offense and defense sessions or offense and kicking plus punting sessions.

The offensive session on July 8 will be from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. with water breaks given every 30 minutes or as needed per player.

The camp’s defensive session is scheduled to go from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m.

More details can be viewed on the official College Coaches Showcase Camp website.
