Dana Baldwin joined the staff at the Blaine County OSU Extension Center on July 1 on a half-time basis as extension educator for family and consumer sciences and 4-H youth development. She also works half-time in Major County.
Baldwin, who is originally from Thomas, has had a career in cooperative extension for almost 30 years. She began with the Texas A&M system in January of 1991 and spent five years there before coming back home to work for the Oklahoma State University system. For almost three years she worked in the Dewey/Major Unit and has been an extension educator for family and consumer sciences and 4-H youth development and county extension director in just Major County since April of 1998.
A graduate of Southwestern Oklahoma State University, Baldwin holds a bachelor’s degree in vocational home economics and a master’s degree in elementary and secondary school counseling. She enjoys working with clientele in the areas of family and consumer sciences including family resilience, nutrition and health, financial management and safety and environment as well as youth development and rural and community development.
Baldwin and her husband Ray Mayer raised their two sons in Fairview where they reside. Their sons are alumni of the Major County 4-H program where they both excelled in the shooting sports program. She looks forward to meeting residents of Blaine County through her programming and reminds everyone that their office is in the basement of the county courthouse.
