It’s August and we are finally back to school! On behalf of all faculty and staff I would like to welcome all of our students back. It has been a long but trying summer break. We are continuing to try and make decisions that will keep our school community as safe as possible.

Due to the number of staff members who are affected by the virus our 6th to 12th grades will begin virtually for the first two weeks of school. It is our plan to return these students to onsite learning on Sept. 8. Lunch will continue to be provided for middle school and high school students. It will be in the same grab and go format as the summer. The elementary school is not facing staffing challenges and will therefore return to school normally on Aug. 27

Ṫeachers are reaching out to students via email with instructions on how to login and navigate their Google classroom environments. All enrollment documents must be complete and in the offices before your student can be put on the rolls.

Chromebooks are available for pickup at the high school office. Please inform your student’s teacher or office if you have not been contacted or have questions or concerns. Two-way communication in this environment is more critical than ever.

We will have positive cases in our school community. It is highly likely that we will experience further disruptions to our normal school routines at some time. Following the guidelines will lessen the chance for infection but nothing guarantees that you will not get it. Supporting and not stigmatizing is important to maintain through these trying times.

This is still a very fluid situation with ever changing data. Our plans will continue to evolve as we are presented more information. I hope you understand the many concerns that go into all of our decisions. We will be basing all school or building closures and extracurriculars on the recommendation of our health officials.

Please keep in mind that all of us are learning this new educational system. There will undoubtedly be growing pains. Updated information will be available on the school website. Please consider any other information you hear to be rumor. We ask that you continue to be flexible and work with us to make this year a productive one for everyone involved.

Thank you for all of your support.
