The memorial service celebrating and honoring the life of Arvel “Dale” Swan, 79, of Enid, will be held 10:00 A.M. Monday February 8, 2021 in the First Christian Church of Watonga with Pastor Adam Lovitt officiating. Complete cremation care and services are under the direction of Brown-Cummings Funeral Home. The service will be live streamed on the First Christian Church of Watonga’s Facebook Page and on the Brown-Cummings Funeral Home Facebook page.

Dale was born on January 22, 1942 in Watonga; where he was raised and educated. He graduated from Watonga High School in 1960. He then served his country as a medic in the U.S. Army.

After his honorable service he attended the University of Oklahoma graduating with a degree in Pharmacy in 1967.

On August 8, 1967 Dale married Lynda Sims and they made their home in Watonga. They had two children, Andy Swann, of Enid and Katy Swann Soper, of Oklahoma City. He enjoyed a long and rewarding career as pharmacist and owner of Swann Pharmacy in Watonga and in Geary.

Dale had a passion for his grandkids. Dale had a gift for gardening, always having an abundant harvest that he was always willing to share. He also loved to fish in his free time.

Dale was beloved by many and will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his son Andy and his wife Christie and his daughter Katy and her husband Jason Soper; his grandchildren Austin, Maggie, and A.J. Swann and Henry Soper; as well has his brothers Terry, Don, and Steven Swann and his sister Patty Swann.

Dale was preceded in death by his parents and beloved wife Lynda Memorials may be given in his honor to the Watonga First Christian Church with Brown-Cummings Funeral Home serving as custodian of the funds.
